UPDATE: Valentine's Day Murder on Westside of ABQ

A suspect is taken into custody by an APD officer at the Hillspire Ave NW. murder.

NW Albuquerque - According to a sworn officer PIO Chase Jewell, just after 5am, Albuquerque Police Department officers in the northwest area of Albuquerque were dispatched to the area of Rabbit Brush Ave NW and Hillspire Ave NW in reference to reports of a shooting.

Jewell said "Officers arrived and located one individual who succumbed to gunshot wounds on scene. This has prompted an APD Homicide investigation, the APD Homicide Unit is en-route to conduct their investigation".

We have a reporter on scene that reports that the homicide took place at a home on Hillspire Ave NW. We saw a suspect being taken into custody.

Reportedly, a son killed his father. Additional details such as what led up to the incident are unknown. We will update this story later if more information is released.

This is the 14th homicide of 2023 in Albuquerque.
