Tense SWAT Situation in War Zone Leads to Arrest of Suspect in Shed

New Mexico State Police officers run toward a last known area of a suspect in a SWAT standoff. After a few hours the suspect was taken into custody.

SE Albuquerque -

On October 23rd, 2023, a multi agency of federal and state law enforcement agencies had a large area of Albuquerque's War Zone locked down near Palomas Street and Trumbull Avenue, as they looked for a fleeing felon.

The SWAT teams were focused on a house when additional information surfaced the suspect could possibly be at another location in the neighborhood.

The standoff lasted several hours before a witness told us police finally found the suspect hiding in a shed in the backyard of a house.
