Bernalillo County – Sheriff Elect John Allen has made his selections for Undersheriff for his administration that will take effect on January 1, 2023. Current BCSO supervisors Lieutenant Aaron Williamson and Sergeant Johan Jareno will be appointed to the position of Undersheriff under John Allen. In addition, Sheriff Elect Allen will appoint retired APD Sergeant Hollie Anderson to the position of Major, which is a newly created position to the Office.

Williamson, Jareno, and Anderson have over 50 years of combined law enforcement experience in multiple areas. “I am confident in the skills and leadership of these individuals to accomplish the mission and goals I have set forth for the agency, while being a clear representation of the community we serve,” said Sheriff Elect Allen.

Aaron Williamson has served the citizens of Bernalillo County, first as a volunteer in the reserve division and then as a full time sworn member for over 20 years. His experience in administrative services and supervisory roles are a perfect combination to bring fluidity to our agency.

Johann Jareno emigrated from Chile and became a US Citizen with the goal of becoming a deputy with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office in 2009. His multi-cultural experience, community engagement and background in the private sector bring a much-needed change to our agency.

Hollie Anderson has 19 plus years with the Albuquerque Police Department where she retired as a sergeant. Her background and outside perspective will be invaluable as we move forward to restore trust with our community and provide superior law enforcement services to the citizens of Bernalillo County. Anderson will be the highest ranking female in agency history.

Sheriff Elect John Allen is excited about the unique set of skills and backgrounds each of these individuals will bring to his administration.
