Albuquerque, NM -
On 4/14/2023, Albuquerque Police and New Mexico State Police responded to a motorcycle crash on the on ramp of I-25 southbound, just south of Paseo Del Norte. It appeared to us that NMSP were taking over the investigation from APD traffic officers.
Witnesses told us that at around 6:15PM, they saw a motorcycle crash into a guard rail and the rider was thrown off the bike. On scene, we observed a sport type motorcycle with an adult male in his mid 20s to early 30s deceased nearby.

The original dispatch came in as a vehicle vs. motorcycle, but we could not see any vehicles involved and it appeared to be a single motorcycle crash.
New Mexico State Police sent this release:
Albuquerque, NM – On April 14, 2023, at around 6:22 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Paseo Del Norte in Albuquerque, NM.
The initial investigation indicated that a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle, ridden by Dylan Herzenberg (24) of Santa Fe was traveling eastbound on Paseo Del Norte, while merging onto Interstate 25 southbound. For reasons still under investigation, Mr. Herzneberg left the roadway and struck the guardrail of the ramp. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Office of the Medical Examiner.
Speed appears to be a contributing factor in this crash.
This crash is being investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
