The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred near Griff’s Hamburgers at Central and Wyoming on Sunday, May 14, 2023. The actual scene of the shooting is on the east side of the sidewalk on Wisconsin St SE.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1:00PM. When APD officers arrived on the scene, they found three people who had been shot. One victim, a male, was pronounced dead on scene. Two other victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Eyewitnesses told to our reporters that they saw at least three individuals fighting. The three individuals were then seen arguing just west of McDonald’s on Wisconsin. The bystanders reportedly then heard gunshots. The subjects appeared to be shooting at each other with no regard for the public. One of the victims then ran across Central, but he reportedly collapsed on Wisconsin St. SE near the Griff’s. The eyewitnesses also report that the offender(s) fled the scene.
The victims have not been identified, and their ages are not known.
No arrests have been made in the case. People are advised to avoid the area.
